The activities of the Judicial Department include all Municipal Court duties. Funding for the Municipal Judge, the Assistant Judge, two Deputy Court Clerks, as well as the City Attorney is included in this department’s budget.

When paying in person we accept: Money Orders, Cashier's Checks and Personal Checks and CASH in the exact amount only. Do not send any cash through the mail. No “temporary” bank checks.YOUR PLEA OPTIONS You may plead GUILTY and remit the fine. (See schedule of fines.)You may plead NO CONTEST and remit fine.You may plead NOT GUILTY and request a Trial by Judge or Jury.If you plead NO CONTEST or GUILTY, and if you qualify, you may take a Driver's Safety Course. (See Driver's Safety Course eligibility & procedures). A plea must be made in writing or in person on or before the appearance date shown on the citation. A telephone call does not constitute an appearance or count as a plea.
DRIVER SAFETY INFORMATION
To be eligible for Driver Safety Course:
Possess Valid Texas Driver’s License or Proof of Active Military Duty (No Exceptions)
DSC not taken in past 12 months for any traffic violation (No Exceptions)
Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance in effect the date of the violation. (No Exceptions)
A speeding violation must be less than 25 mph over the posted speed limit. (No Exceptions)
A driver who has a CDL License is not eligible for DSC or Deferred Adjudication. (No Exceptions)
The Court must receive a written plea of Guilty or No Contest, request for DSC, copy of proof of insurance, copy of driver’s license, and $103.00 paid to the Court on or before the appearance date on citation. Approval for DSC must be granted by the Court. (No Exceptions)
The DSC must be state approved, whether through a class, DVD, or online. (No Exceptions)
You are allowed 90 days for completion of all necessary requirements for DSC dismissal. The Court must receive all of the documents within the 90 day period.
There are no time extensions allowed and there are no exceptions! FINES
The following are the standard fines with the State costs added for the violations shown. If the offense you were cited for is not on the list or you are not sure which fine applies, please contact the court at least 72 hours after receiving the ticket and have your ticket number available for information about the ticket. Any person receiving a citation and taken to Limestone County Jail must appear on the following Wednesday at 3:00PM after being released from jail.

Failure to comply with your written promise to appear in court, as made on your citation, will constitue a separate offense with which you may be charged and result in warrants being issued for your arrest and warrants will make you subject to entry into the Wanted Persons files of this Court. FAILURE TO APPEAR IN COURT MAY ALSO RESULT IN THE DENIAL OF RENEWAL OF YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE.

If your offense is that of expired Driver's License, Motor Vehicle Inspection or Registration and you are submitting proof of renewal, please remember to include a copy of the proof of the renewal, your plea and the dismissal fee of $20.00. The Court must have these three items to dismiss the offense. Expiration must be less than 60 days. If your offense is for NO INSURANCE, SUBMIT A COPY OF PROOF OF INSURANCE FOR DATE OF CITATION.
